Phil was leading our attack in 20/21 when we were most vulnerable and needed someone to step up..

So since then I never had any doubts about him as he established himself as the world-class player in that season..

In 21/22 and 22/23 Pep was experimenting on him a lot and trying to improve him more, rather than give stable position like in 20/21 as a LW and utilise like a senior player.

So People somehow forgot how good he was and what he could do, how he could lead our attack week in & week out..

And that experiments helped him a lot. Like Pep says he can play 5 positions and wherever you play him, he delivers, so he is one of the biggest assets of the club for the next 15 years.

Doesn't matter which manager comes, which tactic he will use - Phill will be the central figure.

Excellent movement and three great finishes. He needs to be in areas he can turn either way and look to get into the box. He's thriving in the no.10 role and long may it continue. He was busting a gut to get back 92 minutes into the game, still looking to run in behind at 3-1 up with seconds left but also calm and controlled in possession and playing keep ball. He's soaked up everything Pep has asked of him and is finally being unleashed.

Got to think Pep will have loved the moment just before 2-0 where he was back in our area covering the late runner. This has been one of Peps concerns with Foden in the middle but last night and the last few games have shown Phil has grasped the role.

someone earleir made the Gundo comparison and it was a good one. His timing in to the area was exactly the same. looks like hes picked the best parts of Silva and Gundo. What a player.

Agreed. The majority of the press and even Pep to a lesser extent saying 'this is his best season' feels a bit of a disservice to his past seasons as I think he was just as decisive, just not given near the number of minutes/oppurtunities he's been given this season.

My best moment from him
