Exactly, it's strange. All the 'sign KDB replacement' talk got me confused. We already have the 'KDB replacement' in the team.

And there's no bedding in, or second guessing whether a new signing fits, Foden is already proving he's very productive in the position.

Too lazy, goes wandering, disinterested, will never be a replacement for KDB, not strong enough and has reached his peak in regards to skill.

Oh, these aren't MY opinions, BTW, just snippets about him from various match threads over the past couple of months. When Phil is allowed to roam he is absolutely lethal. I don't want to see him 'supporting' players in attack, for me he IS the attack.

That's the area where I still think we'll see development. It's not a criticism of him, more an appreciation that his upper body is still to fill out.

I agree.

There's no reason we can't play them together in the middle in some games though. Tonight you could swap Bernado with Kev, or even put Bernado over to the right in place of Doku and still have all 3 on.

Of course against some teams it might not work and things might need to be kept tighter in midfield, but in games like tonight you could do it.
That's the team right there. Kev playing next to Rodri, Phil slightly ahead of them and Bernado on the right

Too lazy? I'm going to need evidence of that being said... Sorry, don't take your word on it.

No. Phil replaces Gundo's magic. We need to still get Wirtz.

That has always been the goal. Wiryz and Phil ahead of Rodri...

My God! The thought makes me dizzy with excitement :)

I'm not sure, at the moment it's hard when Kev and Phil play now as one of them is not in their preferred position, so that will be the case with Wirtz too.

Phil will be the main playmaker in our team and he will be into the future, so if someone comes in and is happy to change position then great, but if not we'll either have to bring in someone else, or use who we currently have like Rico or Oscar.
