Why should he? Not saying he has a choice because physically he no longer looks capable bursting past even plodders in midfield. Which at 24 is strange to say the least.He’s never held people off or shielded the ball that well compared to the greats like Modric and Silva. So i’m not saying he can.

Hopefully he keeps improving ,i’m not getting at him. Just saying keeping the ball well without beating people often or playing many great passes for weeks on end is not where i expected Phil to be by now in his career. Time will tell and due to the squad at the moment it will do. Just really hope in 6/12 months time we’re seeing more of the magical stuff from him again or other players may become regular starters over him.

It was only 6 months ago,if he gets back to this Foden and he should,nobody is starting over him.

He was neat and tidy. Wouldn’t slag his performance off but if that’s the player he’s becoming it’s not the generational talent so many of us thought he’d become.

Anyone else just hate the phrase "generational talent"

Such a stupid phrase, what does that even mean

Does it mean you're top 3 for a full decade?

Foden is world class, but like pretty much any player other than messi and Ronaldo he's having a poor season

Isnt Mbappe supposed to be the heir apprant to Messi/CR9 but hes had some iffy seasons. Hazard took every other year off. Salahs numbers are great but he still has seasons where he doesn't deliver, Bellingham is a "generational talent" and he's has some ups and downs this season, Bale wasn't even good till he was 24, was Sane a generational talent? Pretty sure Deli Ali could've been a "generational talent".Is KDB not our best midfielder and yet he's had some really frustrating runs of form where he just loses the ball constantly

That's not including other top players. So which ones are "generational toaents" as barely a decade separates everyone above

Maybe he won't win the Balon D'Or but football development isn't linear

He's a world class footballer, he's shown enough throughout his career to show that's the case

What does world class mean then? Would get in the his position against anyone else in the world? Phil wouldn’t as he’d struggle to get the 10/ right side role even for England.

Not that many truly great players about in world football at the moment. Mbappe? Do me a favour.

He was literally the PL player of the year last year .
