Ive heard he has Iron deficiency problems. This would explain alot if true.
Article from late November 2024...

According to The Sun, Foden has hired a full-time personal chef to prioritise his health and well-being as he navigates the demands of the Premier League. The chef will reside in a separate gatekeeper’s cottage on the (Foden's) estate, ensuring they are readily available to meet Foden’s dietary and nutritional needs.

Foden’s mother, Claire, recently commented on her son’s dietary transformation, as the forward is looking to overcome iron deficiency. "The shocking thing is I hear him ordering salmon a lot now, and he never used to eat that!" she shared on the podcast Talk Eat Laugh. "He used to have low iron levels, but that’s all up to scratch now.”

OK thanks for posting, hope he gets sorted and back to normal soon. That could easily explain his drop off in form/ energy. I know people who have had iron deficiency probs . I can be a real issue

No confidence

Isn't even confident enough to take the ball on the turn, and that's what used to set him apart

He scored against Villa last week so there goes the "he just needs a goal" excuse.

Do we rotate back to the "bad Euros" excuse now, or is he still supposedly unfit/injured? Or is it the iron deficiency that either he only developed this year or has been always been there but not had an effect on his game until this year for some reason?

Started playing forward passes creating chances, second half went back into his shell and just gave the ball back to the player.

Looked remarkably better than normal (which has been shit the past 7 months) in the first 20-30 minutes, then he went back to ghosting.

Just what the fuck has happened to him ? he's never looked this anonymous in a City shirt, not even when he was 19 and mostly a squad player.

He has no confidence at all. That's what it looks like to me.

He looks shit scared to try the things he used to, such as taking the ball on the turn so quick and beautifully and driving at the defence. He's about as good as it gets at that kind of thing and he barely tries it anymore. Playing way too safe and within himself.

He used to demand the ball all game. Now he looks for the nearest pass ASAP.
