47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

If he wasn’t “Mr Manchester City” the knives would be out in the same way they are for Grealish.

Bronchitis my fucking arse.

Problem with Phil is there’s no jeopardy. He knows he’s unsellable and that is not a good thing.
To be fair he did get league player of the season only last year. You can’t really compare that to grealish. He’s also been injured

The issue is his entire game is now revolved around whether his shots are on target or not. There's nothing more to his game.
Pretty much, he's not a 10 and don't know if he ever will be , just a world class second striker when he's on form.

Remember when blues said that he was better than Saka?

The fact is, he hasn't kicked on at all this season, and last season looks like a flash in the pan.

Currently playing for us as he does for England.

Another one who ducked out of a 50/50 with Mainoo in the first half.

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks he’s had a fallout with Pep and/or some of our players. Something feels off with him this season.

This is true. He isn’t a controller, he doesn’t set the tempo, he isn’t particularly special at passing, he isn’t particularly creative. What he is, is a sharpshooter, that’s kind of it. Last season was a bit of a freak when you look at how wildly he outperformed his xG. It’s a worry, because last season was never going to be sustainable for him and if his shots aren’t going in, what does he bring?

Well if he can't be the Foden of last season can he be the Foden of previous seasons ? because at the moment he's playing like the Euros Foden, and it's bad.

Absolutely love the lad but he’s not turned up this season. Big part of the problem. Should have made the team his this year but doesn’t seem to have any mental strength at all. Worrying.

Phil played like a schoolboy today. He looks like needs to mature and learn to read the game. He's had far too much hype around him, and I think he believes it.

At the moment he's nowhere near the 'elite' level he should playing at by now.

There's probsbly a lot more to this 'off field' than meets the eye.

He was voted the leagues best player last season.

He's been injured and suffered illnesses.

No need for over the top comments.
