47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

He still shows flashes of good play but nowhere near as decisive or sharp as last season.

Seems like a confidence issue rather than fitness.

Should be getting on the ball and forcing things through. Like Kev did in the 10 minutes he was on.

Foden should be THE MAIN MAN in situations like today and not just another of the attackers on the pitch.

Forgot he was on at one point.
He is not a candidate to replace Kdb . He simply cannot do the same. He's just not that good, it's just the way it is. Not creative enough and doesn't have that certain X factor.

Phil was brilliant last season. Especially during the time when he played in the middle while Kev was injured. Comparisons with one of the greatest players to have played in the Premier League during a time when he's off form is a little unfair.

He's a system player, it's that simple, same as Sterling was. Brilliant if system is perfectly tailored to him, half the player if it isn't.

For years now excuses for poor performances have been because he's out of position. For England it's because nobody passes to him.
He's just not very adaptable.
Only time i remember him dictating a game was in cup vs League 1 team few years ago. He's weak and unwilling to get stuck in too.
What we saw from Maddison yesterday is how many of us hoped Phil would be playing for us by now, a Kev/Dave hybrid. But he just doesn't have it in the locker.

He has a superb shot and an amazing first touch which is why he scored so many last season outside of that he's very limited in what he offers.
