47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

I haven’t really got an issue with that mate, it’s more the idea the Phil is only good because of other players. It’s an argument to me that doesn’t make any sense, considering he’s dragged us to a league title.

Based on that logic and last season you could apply that to every player and of course having world class players around you makes you better. Thats the same for players like Haaland.

I agree the rocket needs to be lit this season. Early days yet!

Yup, Phil is an immense talent the only thing he's lacking is being managed properly right now and the same can be said of other players too.

Something's afoot in Etihad towers and we need a real sleuth to do some digging ;-)

See mate I don't mind that but laughing with your mates while you're getting rimmed isn't a good look, agreed.

The thing that bothers me most about this is that Phil Foden is supposed to be 'one of us'... a local lad made good; a City fan living every City fan's dream.

He's been in the City 'bubble' since he was four. He's about as much 'one of us' as Sheikh Mansour is. He's just another multi millionaire detached from reality showing off his Turkey teeth at every opportunity.

I don't know how I would have handled the wealth early on in my life and he does look exceedingly comfortable as you say, the hunger has got to be hard to keep if you've won it all.

How many of the other people on in this squad have been champions of Europe? When you haven’t won it, you won’t enjoy being mocked. There’s your answer

So if he didn't enjoy being mocked, why did he laugh? No-one else on the bench (including Ederson who has also been champion of Europe) was laughing.

Phil's a great footballer on his day, but I dare say that he's probably as thick as two short planks.

Not what I meant. I meant that since Foden has won it he will laugh but Nunes, Gvardiol etc won’t. Not everyone has the same sense of humour

This is the second consecutive season he has not been fit for the start of the league.

He will have a year left on his deal at the end of the season and really needs to step up his effort to show us what he did two seasons ago, or I fear he could be sold next summer.

Foden isn't going anywhere and never will.

They'll be a statue in Stockport for him with a dodgy Barnet and teeth once he ends his career.

This thread really does bring out the moaners. He did his ankle ligaments last season and visibly got his ankle done again when he equalised against Al Hilal (just as he scored his 100th goal for club but yeah he’s just our Rashford isn’t he).

No argument that he needs a better season. But there’s constructive criticism then there’s just bed wetting about him being another Dele Ali based on a five second clip of him laughing on the bench when none of us know what he was laughing at or what the others were doing 30 seconds later.

Don’t know a thing about him being at creamfields. Was he staggering out pissed? If not I don’t really see what the issue is.

I think the Dele Ali comparison is both lazy and very very very drastic.

But there is a reality in which if he has another year like he did last year, and he has 1 year left on his deal and he is going to want to be one of the top earners in the squad, there may have to be a tough conversation if he doesn't at least begin to show more of what we saw in 23/24 and less of what we saw last year.

Yeah I agree with you on that mate. But the fact he wasn’t fit for the start of the season - don’t see the relevance

I reckon he'd play a lot better if he took that stupid wrist strapping off and I'm not just saying that because it annoys the fuck out of me at all

Foden isn't going anywhere and never will.

Fingers crossed that you're right, but I wouldn't put money on it.

His form absolutely dropped off a cliff last season (for whatever reason). If he doesn't come back firing on all cylinders this season, questions will definitely start to be asked.

Elite clubs don't carry passengers. Sentiment is for fans.

You're right.

I have a feeling he'll destroy Brighton on Sunday.

What on earth is this post?

Our rashford?! He’s one of, if not the main reason we won our last title and he’s consistently been excellent for a number of years. When has rashford done that?
Crazy isn't it . This place is either full of rags and dippers or certain blues are off their heads.
