47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

Our central midfield right now isn't good enough to cover for his defensive weaknesses in difficult away games. Pep knows it, that's why he didn't play him in midfield at Arsenal. Given that we were without a proper DM today, playing both Foden and Bobb was asking for troubles. There was a gap between the front 4 and the rest of the team in the first half.

However they judge the chances is anyone’s guess, but a damning stat either way.

Correct, I’m sure my eyes were on the game for most of the game and heaven knows where seven chances come from. I can only really recall the Haaland one on one and the disallowed goal. There were a couple of “pot shots” outside the box late on but weren’t chances.

Corners maybe? dunno if they count

Turned into a flicks and tricks player.

We needed a man in midfield to step up now Kev has gone and this was his opportunity.

Looking a one season wonder at the moment.
Wouldn't go that far, but definitely feels like he struggles to be the main man and is better as a supporting cast member.

Back to his usual of hiding in an away game.
I thought he started well but just didn't do enough for me.

He had the International break off so i thought he'd come back fresh and rested and be our main creative player, but he's disappointed so far.

If Cherki finds some form, i think Phil's place will be under threat, because i just can't see Pep playing both of them regularly.

This is one of those ones that doesnt pass the eye test I think. If he created chances they weren't clear, and he wasted a lot of advanced positions.

I am now becoming desperate for Cherki to get a chance and show his ability.

The turgid build up and side to side passing might then change and creativity take over and give our forward players a better chance.

What levels are those?

He’s already surpassed Silva and Yaya in team and individual honours.

Some serious revisionism going on with suggesting they never had bad games.
No one would Say he is individually better than any of those 2

Please take him off corners

This is fair.. he takes free kicks and corners and if we're honest (not hating the player) he's below average on them. He's not a penalty taker either.

It is what it is.. we need a dead ball specialist. Or more likely we need to create one in training.

Marmoush and Cherki are better in both. Should be our specialists at this point
