Feel gutted for Phil.
I know he’s alluded to mental health issues, of which I really feel for the lad, but it’s having a profound effect on his game.
He used to be amazing at receiving the ball on the half turn and then driving at teams, this has completely gone from his game.
He’s consistently playing square on with his back to goal and his only involvement is to show for the ball then play à short pass back.
Literally no creativity.
Add to that his passing is wayward and he’s easily being dispossessed and we effectively have 10 players on the pitch.
I really hope and pray he comes good but I fear he’s going to be another Jack Grealish where he needs to go to à team with less pressure to build his confidence.
Time will tell.
