Exactly, as dissapointing as it is to lose the title to United, at least we've had 3-4 months warning! Imagine losing it in the last minute of added time, on the last day of the season haha.

Remarkable really, I think Mancini was right, perhaps we won the league a year or two before schedule. It's a shame how we've limped out of this race, but we'll be stronger for the experience next year.

The F.A. Cup would be sensational.. Joe Mercer only won it once as a manager, thought prevoking.

Finishing 2nd in the league would make this a very good season for us

The easily disgusted man can calm down, Spurs will not finish 2nd

Travelling backwards always makes me feel queasy......
2nd place isn't traveling backwards. It's called being in title contention. I swear sometimes that City fans are so used to the calamities of the past that they don't know how to conceive of what it actually means to be a title-challenging club. It's rare to coast to multiple titles. Exceedingly rare. Finishing more than 10 points out is down to several factors, but it's not as calamitous as people are making it out to be.

I wasnt just talking about our league position, even though its the predominant factor.
Our performance in Europe was unacceptable and the squad, imo,is weaker than last year, especially in mentality.

Given the momentum of the League title and the advantages that brings, our lack of progression this season is criminal.

As long as we finish the season strongly, 2nd wouldnt be a disaster. In fact it could be good for us in the long run. It will force the club to address the weaknesses in the squad. If United hadnt done so well this season and we'd won the league playing as we have done, there would be a temptation to leave things alone, effectively paper over the cracks.

If we finish a reasonably close 2nd that should be enough to avoid large scale panic changes. But I think the club would be more determined to sort out weaknesses such as the lack of pace and width, to move on underperforming players such as Nasri and to add a top striker. We might end up with a better squad in the longer term.

The fact we finsihed below Ajax was a bitter blow.

The fact we are out of the race for the title by Feb and the fact we are 12/15 points behind United and only 2/5 above Spurs who have just two strikers and sold 2 of their best players in the summer (people can say Dembele and Sigurrdson are good players but they are no VDV and Modric!). It's totally unacceptable. QPR beat Southamption 2-1 and we lost 3-1! So we lose to a team that the lowest team in the league beat, we lost without so much as a glimmer of hope in what was a must win game.

The fact that we bombed out of the CC to the worst side in the league IMO yet we semi'd it last year.

I'm not 'off my head' or 'hard to please'. I just cannot and will not accept that this is as good as it gets for us this season. We are better than this. You feel that teams across the league would give their arms for players we have. What would Spurs do with an Aguero, Tevez or Dzeko instead of Adebayor or Defoe? What would Liverpool do if they had a Silva Instead of a Downing? What would Arsenal do if they had Yaya instead of Arteta?

We've gone from finishing 3rd in CL (''but it was our first time'', it was Napoli's also!) to finishing last.

We've gone from winning the title and fighting for it all season to being out of the race in Feb.

We've gone from beimng semi-finalists of the CC to going out earlty doors to a poor Villa side.

People can spin that and sugar-coat but the cold hard facts are we have regressed and whilst we can accept learning curves and obstacles we cannot accept poor performance. Now people want blame Nasri, people blamed Mario. Why is Mancini above the same criticism? He played both of the players mentioned above out fo position more often than not and people cannot see this. I don't get it.

I'm not spinning anything. You're overly concerned about Tottenham. You underrate them, so the fact that they're closer in the standings than you like is worrisome to you.

I make a living from people's kneejerk opinions. What the fuck is all this talk about Spurs for ? They're on a good run but they won't finish 2nd and they are nowhere near our level. Last season when they came to our place they were being spoken of as possible title candidates but they imploded down the stretch as they'll do again to a lesser extent this time.

How the fuck can people say this season's shit because we were out of the title race in February ? Err no we fucking weren't and nor are we now. We're out of it when the maths tell us so.

CL results are misleading. It's a shit competition skewed in favour of the status quo.

The Sheikh won't be here forever, 2nd in the league and potential FA Cup semi finalists is a brilliant season, enjoy it while it lasts is my advice.

What's misleading about getting a single point over 2 legs v Ajax?

If you think we can win the title now then you're bordering delusional. I believed we could do it last year but losing v Southampton put the nail in our coffin.

The table doesn't lie either, it is arrogant to dismiss Spurs as below us. Whilst our playing staff is a level above, i'm not sure our manager is.

Call me whatever but you cannot knock this post or my one above. Facts speak for themselves and we are criminally underperforming.

And your basing this opinion on?

Because common opinion dictates that he will, as does the foundations we are building for the future!
