I make a living from people's kneejerk opinions. What the fuck is all this talk about Spurs for ? They're on a good run but they won't finish 2nd and they are nowhere near our level. Last season when they came to our place they were being spoken of as possible title candidates but they imploded down the stretch as they'll do again to a lesser extent this time.

How the fuck can people say this season's shit because we were out of the title race in February ? Err no we fucking weren't and nor are we now. We're out of it when the maths tell us so.

CL results are misleading. It's a shit competition skewed in favour of the status quo.

The Sheikh won't be here forever, 2nd in the league and potential FA Cup semi finalists is a brilliant season, enjoy it while it lasts is my advice.
Nurse, come quickly. It's the worst case of Likkle Cityitis I've ever seen. A dose of reality should be administered fast before this man starts raving about York and Stuart Pearce.

Nip,yet again, your post hits the nail square on,i can't see an argument otherwise.

This season hasn't been anywhere near good enough and only one person should take responsibility for that, however, and hugely ironically,he is currently too busy telling others they need to take a look at themselves......

Your reasoning starts off so well and then just dives off a cliff.

The season hasn't been nowhere near good enough. Correct.

One person taking responsibility is ludicrous and reductionist to the point of being actually hard to engage. I'm not trying to offend, but it's similar to arguing against Young Earth Creationism. The idea we have the best squad in the world or close to it is ridiculous. The idea that our summer business was handled correctly is ridiculous. The idea the summer business handling was down to the manager is ridiculous. The idea that players should be coddled and never, ever, ever criticized is ridiculous.

Lots of people are to blame from top to bottom for our lack of progress in Europe and stagnation in the League.

Certain players underperforming and showing a lack of commitment, poor purchases in the transfer market,an unbalanced squad..... who do you think is responsible then?

The certain players that are underperforming.

The people responsible for the transfer policy (not just Mancini).

And Mancini.

To suggest only one person at a football club is responsible for any successes or failures doesn't make any sense. Football is a bit more complicated than that.

Football isnt any more complicated than that though, ultimately the man brought in to motivate, assemble and progress us is the manager,he isnt doing a great job of it and that is where the buck stops.

The manager, the transfer market personnel, and the players. Oh and the owner for not taking care of those things sooner.

-- Mon Mar 04, 2013 2:18 pm --

As I said, reductionist to a ludicrous point.

Wrong I'm afraid.

The senior management will look at the performances of everyone involved and make decisions on whether or not changes need to be made.

Players, manager, staff will all be subject to this and thats the way its been forever.

And despite popular belief, decisions will be made on a more rational basis than "he's had a bad year, sack him".

You're right about that bit. The decision will be made on whether he is trusted to be the man to take city to "phase 3" of the project. It will be a decision made on his whole personality and ethos.

You'll be on benefits in 1, 2, 3...
