I thought that about Guinness. I had a pint in Dublin many moons ago and it was creamy, less gassy, silky. I thought the bastards were keeping the best stuff for themselves!

Harvey's Sussex Bitter. (You won't find it up here, but it's bloody good.)
Adnams' Bitter. (Best in Suffolk/Norfolk. Often not at its best up here.)
Woodforde's Wherry Bitter
Thwaites' Dark Mild. (Which is called something else these days and very hard to find. Best bet the Grey Horse over the Grain between Haslingden and Blackburn.)
