Unfortunately for Stones he has a really 'quiet' style of play, so he doesn't tend to get the plaudits he warrants.

But it's another impressive performance.

Its very easy to miss him in-between Maguire winning every ball into the box and Walker mopping up and knocking any runner in behind off the ball.

I think his teammates and manager know how good he is though and I'm sure he will have his moment if England are going to go deep in the tournament.

Very impressive performance today which will go under the radar slightly due to Sterling's efforts. He was a rock and looks a class act.

I wonder where those few people have gone who thought he only had a decent season because of Dias.

As much as I don't want to slate another quality player, Laporte hasn't had as good a season for us as Stones has. We're incredibly lucky to have all three but that partnership has been something else.

The fact that he's the one who Southgate passes instructions to is also pretty telling.

He was great and has been England's best CH this tournament.
He has really gone up a level this season, for us and England

Think we’ve been guilty of it ourselves at times this season tbh. Dias has rightly got a lot of plaudits but an in form Stones is the most valuable defensive asset we have. He is so pivotal to how we move the ball and start the attack.

Not all of us. He's been patronised by too many people crediting Dias with his Renaissance when in reality they've been as important to each other. He's one of the best in Europe now.
