Felt like Stones is underrated by the media. He has been very good for the past 2-3 years after bouncing back from his awful 2 seasons prior. Yet all I see were the media gushing over the likes of Rudiger, VVD, even Martinez.

Even at the WC, they kept trying to shower praise towards Maguire (best player for England my arse) when Stones is the actual rock at the back.

I can comfortably say he is one of the best CBs in the world right now.

Yep hes a top class operator. IMO the only thing thats held him back is niggly injuries

Hes had 3/4 good games, then out for 3, benches in return, takes a few games to get back into his stride, good for 3/4, niggly injury again … rinse n repeat

And that's true...

20 / 21 -> Ruben - Stones duo..
21 / 22 -> Ruben had injuries, but John was solid, played RB well number of times, great season..
22 / 23 -> Has great season so far..

I will go even further.. Except maybe 19 / 20 season, which was disaster for a lot of players..

18 / 19 -> Nothing would be achieved without Stones - Laporte duo, especially first half of the season, those games against Liverpool..

17 / 18 -> It was Nico - Stones duo whole season, 100 points..

So, he is underrated and doesn't get credit he deserves... Fortunately, the club respects him a lot and got a new contract..

That last ditch tackle on the yank was one of the best block tackles I’ve ever seen.

Absolutely class at the moment. Defensively a rock. On the ball so good at finding the right pass and keeping the ball as long as he needs to in order to open up space for an attacking ball. In sensational form and it's great to see. Keep it up Sir John!
