How can he see it in the first 5 minutes but not in the warm up or earlier, to not play him if he's not ready?

He's a vital player but he's injury prone and he's probably knackered because he's just had a kid. The cup match would have been ideal to manage his minutes.

Bizarre comment. Take him off then?

It reads like he’s criticising John, don’t know if he is or not.

Sounds like he blames Stones for not being professional enough to be ready. In other words, his injuries are not down simply to physiology...

Pep has been quite critical of the players after the WC...Guess he has decided to go with those who want to be here next season, but he isn't happy with some of them too. He knows the mood in the squad isn't great right now.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I didn't get why laporte and Dias weren't involved from the start today. Looks like one of them will be for the foreseeable if he's out for a while. It's a blow but we will cope.

I think some fans have called it - John was not quite at his best today. I think that is all Pep means and John over-stretched because he got it wrong. He has been fantastic so a speedy recovery is welcome. Good to see Ruben looking ready though.

Till Dias or Laporte get injured in the next weeks
