Stones had good moments but ended the game badly, as his passing in the last 20 minutes wasn't good and he was indirectly involved in their last 2 goals: a meek header set up the attack for their 2nd and was slow to react for their 3rd. Maybe he got tired.

Let's hope he stays fit.
A meek header made our goalkeeper, who had possession of the ball, kick it straight to an opposition player? Ok. He was definitely involved in that goal.

It wasn't a mistake on Stones's part. Might be wrong, but thought he could do a bit better in that situation, and much better for their winner.

Even though they played a derby 3 days earlier, they finished the game as the fresher team and punished our mistakes.

Best performance in a long time, looked like the old Stones, can he do it again against Madrid and the dippers ? I hope so.

I might be reaching here, but I think it was weird that Haaland was picked as captian over Stones who’s been here many more years. Wonder if Stones is still around after the summer? I hope he does because he’s top class when he’s fit

I agree. Its quite an insult. Nothing against Haaland I love the guy, but Johns won more than anyone one that pitch and is a proper blue. Fundamental to how the team plays.

Could also just be a question of personality. Stones just gets on with it and to be fair Haaland seemed to revel in being captian.

Imperious. Looked like he was playing against under 8's all game. Completely pocketed Isak and anybody else that dared challenge him.

Most impressive though was how he coached Khusanov through the game. Not that he neccesarily needed it but he showed brilliant leadership making sure he and his partner were on it at all times and had each other's backs. A proper cb duo today, Isak hasn't had a tougher game all season.
