Listening to all the classified results is still a ritual I love. Time stands stillThis feels wrong this. It’s just part of Saturday to me… since we got good and have kickoff times all over the place it’s not quite the same but I used to enjoy tuning in on the way back from a game.
BBC Radio 5 Live drops classified football results
The traditional reading out of the football results at 5pm on a Saturday is axed by BBC Radio.www.bbc.co.uk
Agreed re your last sentence.I gave up on football radio a while back. TalkSPORT is just recycled banter and bait depending on the results.
5 live decided to start going that way too when Pougatch was binned and I just couldn’t be arsed with it.
I’d love a Radio 4 version of sporting radio, but I guess the demand isn’t there and podcasts have filled that void.

Forget the Zen yoga or brethwork, the candles, crystals and holistic bath salts. A sit down and listen to the classified is more calming than all of that shit put togetherTo be honest with phones and internet I haven't listened to it for years except in the car after a rare Staurday 3.00 game and even then found it tedious.
I thought it wasWill never get to hear "East Fife 5, Forfar 4"
Pfft. This just doest have a place in modern coverage. Back in the day you had to know when this was on and tune in to find your teams score. If your were following a lower league club and you missed you would have to get the paper the next day. Then teletext came along and you had a solution so this became a relic. This feels wrong this. It’s just part of Saturday to me… since we got good and have kickoff times all over the place it’s not quite the same but I used to enjoy tuning in on the way back from a game.
