Pep must be happy having advocated for this a few times. Then again…
Might make 2 now and again now this is coming back in

Dare I say its not good for any clubs that don't have the strength in depth . Still it's better for the players health
so, us then? We seem to regularly not have a full bench, nor have a full compliment of registered players

Amazing really , as I'm always hearing City have 2 player's for every position...

So that’s 1 of 5 players I can scream to Pep to use when he’s having one of his moments.
Brilliant ;-)

This could technically give us an advantage with the strength in depth we have on bench, if the manager made subs

The fact we were the only top European league to revert back to 3 just shows you how much of a backward decision it was and how dated and resistant to change we are. Its become so obvious it's for the best now that even we can't ignore it any longer, it's embarrassing it took this long.

The popukar morons view from last season of it only helping the better sides which was spouted out by nearly every single clueless pundit, carragher, ferdinand etc has been shot down by some managers of those teams suggesting it actually benefits them more if anything. City and Liverpool, the two best teams in the league routinely rely on grinding teams down, they'll spend 45 minutes tiring the opposition out so they can benefit second half, that tactic is seriously negated if the opposition can bring on half a new outfield team.

In a world where we are asking players to play more and more and seeing more and more injuries because of it, it's almost negligent to not have 5 subs at this point. Studies show you're far more likely to get injuries after 70 minutes once fatigue sets in, this helps to drastically reduce that. We should see a noticeable decline in muscle injuries within 2 seasons of this, let's just hope the people in charge don't see it as an opportunity to introduce even more games into the schedule. There's also the opportunity to give more youth players time in the pitch which everybody screams out for, until there's a chance to actually make it happen then most don't want it.

Who will be the first pundit to come out and say this is bad and then flip when they realise how stupid they are? My moneys on Ferdinand, give it 6 months and he will be telling everybody he lead the campaign for it.

Yeah pep wanted 5 subs but what got me was the palace game made zero subs and his explanation to why he never made a sub was they were do fine and didn’t want to upset the balance.

Five subs are good if we are 3 up by halftime then Pep can make three subs to rest players and still have a couple up his sleeve.

We might see more youth teams players on the bench and coming if the bench, but we have to be 3 up though.

I think it could help the weaker teams if they used their subs in a smart way.
Either they can risk being more physical because if they pick up an early yellow card they can swap that player for someone with a clean slate or they can ask their players to run and chase harder knowing they can swap their midfield three and still have a couple of swap left for tactical tweaks.

Reckon this will benefit sides who keep it tight more tbh

can make more subs for tired legs when holding on.

Can throw on more attackers when you are chasing late on

Don’t we have the smallest squad in the Prem? Only 18 first team players?

It'll help the dippers as they'll have an average age of about forty, and the rags will be able to sub their OAP's and the can't be arsed show ponies at half time.

More shite to ruin football further! Don’t agree with this move at all me. It will detract from one of the main reasons the Premier League is the best league to watch… late goals!

Teams score so many late goals in this league because the opposition are tired and make mistakes late on. Allowing teams to bring on more fresh legs to stop these late goals from being scored is going to be shit.

I'm with you on this.
You know how ushited disrupt a game if they are winning, feigning injury. They will have subs threatening to come on but will change their mind as Bruno manages to live after being dispossessed of the ball.
But now it wii be more about the camera watching players warming up than the actually game itself.
Really stands out to me that Klopp was harping on about this a couple of weeks ago cos his team are in a rarity of still being in 4 comps.
Next thing they announce a change.
Dippers got through against Forest with the mass changes of quality they made compared to Forests subs, well that and an off side goal but that's not important.
