I like Casino Royale and think Skyfall was an epic fail. The old ones are brilliant think Piers Brosnan is my best bond.

What does 'epic' actual mean these days?

Very large in whatever the context it's used in i guess.
It has to be used with 'fail' in this context, and I think it just means 'shite' to the average person. Can't get the hang of all this modern language.

Just sayin'.

I don't think there's been a truly awful bond, Timothy Dalton probably my least favourite but even he was good.

Skyfall not quite sure what the fuss was about, one of the worst in my opinion, didn't have the typical bond elements...gadgets, women. Tried to change too much.

Casino Royale the best without question, not because its a newer bond either, it just had everything, that film I could watch over and over the most.

Im a huge Bond fan but I think Skyfall is the worst ever .
Worst plot . Worst song . Worst stunts . Worst comedy . Worst baddy . Worst ending .
I just dont see the attraction of Daniel Craig as Bond . Bond films these days seem dark and too atmospheric . . . Why ?
And another thing . . . . . With Daniel Craig as Bond(not his fault , down to production) , What has happened to the Monty Norman music . You never get the big key change in it anymore when the big stuff happens .

Every word is spot on.
I've not been to the piccies in a decade, and I didn't rush to go and see Skyfall.
I borrowed a copy off someone a few weeks back, and to say I was underwhelmed, wouldn't be far off the mark. Poor from beginning to end.

Craig is just too 'cold', even in love scenes. I hate that 'staring into the middle distance' look, he always does, trying to seem moody. I know each Bond actor has his own style, but his just doesn't engage me.

No Monty Norman stuff during the film was a poor decision.

Mind you, if that nob-end Chris Evans browbeats his audience for at least 20 minutes of every broadcast, for 2 months, about how good the film is, you know it's going to be shite.

Back on theme.
Fav films
You Only Live Twice
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
The Spy Who Loved Me
Moonraker

Fav song
We Have All The Time In The World (Mrs Goldblatt walked down the aisle to a pianist's version of this, when we married)

Fav Girls
Shirley Eaton and Dink (Goldfinger)
Corinne Cléry (Moonraker)
Talisa Soto and Carey Lowell (...Richard Gere is a lucky fucker) (License To Kill)

Gadget
Little Nell - gyrocopter

Car
Aston Martin DB5. WTF were they thinking of, putting him in a Beemer, during the 90's????? Crazy

Moment
When Bond saves the world at the end of Moonraker, shooting the pods that are going to destroy the world....great accompanying soundtrack. John Barry at his best

Comedy line
The last bit of Moonraker. Bond and Dr Goodhead (top double-entendre) are floating in zero gravity, obviously "on the job".
Frederick Grey (MoD) "My God, what's Bond doing?",
to which Q replies "I think he's attempting re-entry"....quality

yes, he's with a lady...

Anyway, favourite film, OHMSS or Thunderball

Octopussy was just horrific as was Madonna's cameo in Die Another Day (was it?)

Skyfall is right up there with the worst of Bond theme songs . How it won an Oscar is beyond me .
Maybe it's to do with America being in love with Adele at the moment.
Let's face it , it's a boring song and the lyrics are very , if not dreadfully weak .
35 years ago Carly Simon sang Nobody doe's it better . Written by Burt Bacharah I think . It still sounds fresh everytime you hear it and you know instinctively where it came from .
Will you still remember Skyfall in the same way in 35 years . . . I think not .
