Him and Van Dick didn’t react too well for the Italian goal but it should be interesting to see how he does facing a Prem league fast winger in Moise Kean.

At first viewing I was like "That was utter shit Ake"

Then on 2nd viewing it seems they were both marking the same guy, then Virgil leaves him to mark nobody, leaving Ake with 2 people to mark.

Not surprised he couldn't make his decision fast enough with 2 people, but he should have jumped imo.

I blame Virgil here most I think, then Ake 2nd. But really just poor communication between them.

He was really left in the crap by Vvd. Probably should have attacked the ball, but he had two forwards , and was caught directly between them

He has the player in front of him whilst worrying about a runner coming in at the back post, van dijk should be 5 yards deeper but is near the penalty spot in no man's land.
Feel sorry for ake having to do two jobs playing alongside that fuckin scouse ponce.

Veltman and the midfielders all got dragged out of position and it led to Van Dijk and Ake haveing to defend loads of space on their own, probably scrambling to communicate throughout it as well. Ake having to mark two men at once = lack of reaction time

I agree the problem is Van Dijk doesn't bother marking Moise Kean at all. If he did, Aké could focus on defending the back post.

However he's still way too passive towards that cross. If he'd attacked it properly than a 5'7'' midget wouldn't have gotten near it and he'd have bailed out VVD's mistake.
