Ake is also a humble and lovely guy, a proper team player, which is a big plus. It's easy to see why Pep likes him a lot.
He has some limitations with regard to his involvement in the build up play, though. Going by the old concept of defender, it isn't a big deal. But Pep has changed football, playing with two defensive FBs is a killer now. Take Arsenal: White and Zinch complement each other the same way in which Walker and Cancelo complemented each other in previous seasons.
Pep tries to compensate Ake's limitations by playing Rico closer to Rodri. This can work in some games, but it's not the solution in more difficult games. Maybe Pep will go with Ake and Walker in the big games, which is far from optimal, for both are defensive FBs.
