Looked very cultured - Nice to see him bringing the ball forward & threading passes between the lines - Akanji seems to have a very positive influence on this. Another very decent performance from Nathan, which allows us to take time with Laporte who looked understandably rusty in his return, good stuff.

Come back after injury and slotted in seemlessly, gets better every week and never let's us down.

Imagine us lining up with no Stones Dias or laporte last season and not being even remotely concerned. Depth at centre back is unreal. Ake's versatility is key to keeping them all happy, he will get time at left back so we can play others especially with Walker being far from the player that never got injured anymore. Superb.

He‘s a cracking player. Great to have in our squad. Another who will do a job whatever is asked of him. So pleased all that media speculation about him going in the summer hasn’t unsettled him.

I’m quick to jump on his back so it’s only fair to praise him too. Fantastic (again) today and has been all season when called upon. His pace and tenacity is massive in games like that

Overall been our best defender for coming up a year now. I know correlation doesn't = causation but Pep took him out of CB for Laporte and suddenly our defence looked shakey

Agree with all this. After settling in, I thought he was pretty good last season (including his 17 minute piece de resistance away to Athletico) but you're right he looked so assured and positive with the ball and sensible with his defending.
When he first came, he'd jut tippy tap sideways and backwards but now he's attuned to Pep and the squad I'm so pleased he has stayed

His ball progression has come on leaps and bounds, very pleased and impressed with him according to form hes our best CB atm. Last season at home Vs Southampton (who we play next week) he was slow playing out from the back, he's a completely different player now, deserves to start consecutively.

Didn't put a foot wrong yet again, very hard to displace him now if he stays fit. Surprisingly not many calls for us to cash in on him first offer we get anymore. Still woukd prefer him left back at Anfield, he's best suited to deal with Salah.
