I’m a big fan of Nathan.Great to see him back on Saturday. Another top player.
He’s a very consistent defender. Him and Joško have the left side of our defence covered.

Much as Akanji had a good season, and Gvardiol too, we always seem a bit more comfortable with Ake in defence on the counter. He has saved us a few embarrassing breakaway goals from the opposition, and even this season there have been two, and a few near misses.

Yeah I think Pep's aiming for his peak in midseason.. not wanting another hamstring problem.
He's the best 1v1 defender we have. He also rarely makes mistakes or oopsies whilst Gvardiol makes them almost every game.
