Ake looks completely fucked physically at the moment, he has to be moved on in the summer surely? Been a great player for us but he can hardly move properly (and he was never blessed for pace to begin with)

Definitely carrying an injury way he's positioning himself and guarding his right hand side.

Same situation as Stones unfortunately. Don't think there are a lot of teams in the market for older defenders with frequent injury concerns

Just keep all 3 (Stones, Ake, sort of but not entirely in the same bracket Akanji) in our back pocket.

And go out and buy Hjusen and Schlotterbeck and rebuild with solid fit defenders.

Put in a great effort today. Obviously not fit and it's obvious we're going to push him until he breaks again with akanji and stones done. We've got to manage him better. Use Reis, use Nunes and Lewis more to allow gvardiol to come central just let him come back properly because if he breaks again we're back to a proper makeshift defence again. Learn your fucking lesson pep.

Agreed, it's time to be ruthless I feel, and it pains me to say get rid of Stones but as our 3rd/4th highest earner we can't be doing with his injury record at this stage

Absolutely, but I think some here need to temper their expectations that Stones and/or Ake will be gone come closing time of the summer window.

Feel sorry for him, clearly struggling badly, but he's been strapped up and sent out again

Could be a match fitness/sharpness issue.

Problem is he gets injured again so fast after returning.
It might be the case that several City players are coming back too soon just because they know the team is under pressure and short of players.
And end up playing badly due to lack of recovery and match practise and also accounts for the recurring injury issues.

You wouldn't expect that of "normal" football players but the City players have been part of this team for years.

No where near fit, at least I hope he isn't as he could hardly run.

Another for me that needs to be moved on, very good player but the injuries have destroyed him.
