I'm guessing so too but I'm not too optimistic at the moment

It's hard to be optimistic and the default position over the past few years has been can we win it, not can we make the knockouts. We're not winning it without recruitment in January. But we've seen Chelsea go and win it under new management from the turn of the year and looking as vulnerable as we do up to that point. Just got to scrape over the line however we can. PSG don't look very good and Club Brugge we should beat, but the Juventus result will dictate what is needed from those. Every game looks like a real tough one with the form we are in.

I'm hopeful, regardless of the result on Sunday that we see a better defensive performance and a lot more discipline than we have. Even if we lose, as we often have at Anfield, that gives us a platform for Forest and Palace. It's positive the games come thick and fast as there's always an opportunity round the corner to rediscover our form.

Bernado is having an awful season.

The whole thing is a shambles. Look at the space for the second goal. Who is pressuring the man with the ball. Just a complete lack of leaders. Akanji should be taking control of that back four but look at that line for the offside for goal 3. I’d expect a kids team to do better. Why are playing offside near the half way line too? Why are we so high up the pitch?
Listened to the post match interviews and it sounded like the high line and all the things you mentioned were clear instructions from Pep.

Back to the topic I felt very sorry for this young lad. He was clearly unprepared for this kind of situation. It could be much better if Pep moved Bernado or other more senior player closer to him instead of pinning them high up

Let's loan him out to see how he does elsewhere, under less pressure, and not pretend like he is a viable CB option at this point in time. We need to buy at least 2 defenders, and if he does well somewhere for an extended period of time, he can replace one of the aging players in the future. Surely not now, though.

Just turned 19 I wonder how many players that are now established in the PL at the same age you would offer the same opinion of?

he looked confused at doing the job he was brought on to do. Just let them come forward with the ball.

I'm one of those who wants our academy players/boy hood blues to do well for us, but he's not good enough.

no easy task coming on as a youngster and playing between Akanji and Gvardiol - both on horrible form, and neither really the sort to help guide him through it

What's the point?

A kid gets brought on for five minutes, as a replacement for a perpetually injured senior player, when nobody else is available and people rush on here to slag him off.

I don't really know what to say. How is it a talking point?

Some people are just desperate to have strong opinions on every single topic, I guess.
