Was hoping he'd be our secret new weapon to give us some hope against Arse, unfortunately it blew up on us.
He fitted in superbly against Chelsea so why put him and Silvinho on the same flank and getting in each other's way?Give him and Pep some time to figure out how he fits in the side.
Listen Father Paul, please make you're way back to the swamp.I have not been very impressed with him so far but not sure what his job was yesterday and he seemed unsure himself tbf. Looked better against Chelsea so yesterday must be partly down to Pep. Difficult time to arrive into a City team in turmoil and he does seem able to take a half decent corner so let's wait to see if we have wasted another wheelbarrow full of cash.
We've got a manager who doesn't encourage his midfield to pass forward? He would probs have a handful of goals already if David Silva was here. We’ve got a midfield who just doesn’t pass forwards
Of course the midfield pass the ball forwards. We've got a manager who doesn't encourage his midfield to pass forward?
when we opened up they ran riotOf course the midfield pass the ball forwards.
But, not often enough with threatening, attacking balls.
Yesterday, Foden and Bernardo would far too often collect the ball in midfield and instantly pass it back to the defenders.
If a wide attacking player (notably Nunes) received the ball, they also passed it back to the defender, or sometimes played a slow passive ball, sideways.
There was no risk, jeopardy or quick passing when City had the ball, yesterday.
Arsenal were not that good until they scored their 3rd goal.
In fact, the quality of both teams in the first 70 minutes was bang average and both played with a "safety first" attitude.
As Arsenal were ahead so early, it was up to City to be offensive.
Unfortunately, I feel Pep had another of those games where he was far too cautious...
How can we go forward when we camp out against a wall of players on the 20 yard box? We've got a manager who doesn't encourage his midfield to pass forward?
Just I don’t see him as a Kev more as an out and out striker.Do tell…
If they play the same position, one us new and one us about to leave, what would you call it?
I don’t think it’s that mate. They aren’t capable. Kovacic,Bernardo, Foden never do those passes. KDB the only oneWe've got a manager who doesn't encourage his midfield to pass forward?
When did they run riot in the first 70 minutes ?when we opened up they ran riot
We could have done with a half decent defender like Aurthur Mann yesterday. The fact that we can't defend to save our lives currently is on the manager. I suggest that you head off back to your Clown World.Listen Father Paul, please make you're way back to the swamp.
I’m hoping the latter. Our tactics were ground breaking and highly successful when our midfielders were icons at their peak. Great to watch too. Now every fkn pub team manager knows how to counteract our fragile, ageing team.Puzzling.
Unless Pep changes how he sets up the team (or the club changes the manager) I’m struggling to see how an electric attacker that likes the ball to feet will fit in a team that still seems to want to control the game through careful buildup and seems to hate any moments of individual brilliance.
Perhaps he is part is the first wave of a tactical change.
Foden definitely does. Very positive pass to Savinho for our lone goal yesterday. Obviously, he had a stinker after that, but it's wrong to say he doesnt try things.I don’t think it’s that mate. They aren’t capable. Kovacic,Bernardo, Foden never do those passes. KDB the only one
I simply have high expectations and I am not willing to pretend like someone had a good game when they didn't. I am not throwing the toys out, I believe in his ability, he will play better. But we need to be honest that he needs to. If his level of performance at city mirrored what we saw yesterday, that would be very bad. And it's okay to acknowledge that. You do realise that you're judging him on just two appearances, right? Give him a chance, FFS!
Perhaps 4 less pirouettes in midfield while they organise their two banks of 5?How can we go forward when we camp out against a wall of players on the 20 yard box?
Baffling
These are the only midfielders in the history of midfielders who our fans have convinced themselves are incapable of "PASSING FORWARD".I don’t think it’s that mate. They aren’t capable. Kovacic,Bernardo, Foden never do those passes. KDB the only one
