With Julian Alvarez, he was a very good finisher around the box, but he wasn't the quickest or particularly skillful. When he played with Haaland, defences could still put a lot of emphasis on marking Haaland. They weren't too worried about Alvarez running in behind or taking them on.

In terms of general play, I think Marmoush is going to frighten defenders a lot more and he's very direct with pace. They've got a lot more on their plate than doubling up on Haaland now. I think it'll start benefiting both players.

I thought, just before he chipped the ball over Dúbravka, that he had pushed it too far ahead of himself, but it was perfectly weighted for him to run on to and lift it over the ‘keeper.

He took all three of his goals really well. He is a star in the making.

An upgrade on Alvarez in every way plus has shown he can play complementing Haaland whilst clearly delighted to be at City.
