His work rate is awful. We were constantly told he would add energy and spearhead our front press much like Alvarez did, not seeing anything remotely similar to that yet. It is of course something that's really simple to pick up so no reason not to be entirely confident he will do so but it's not on show right now.

Systems passing him by. He’s thinking about it.

It will come.

I always like to give new signings half a season before any judgement positive or negative. It took merlin half a season, bernado too. Any player coming from abroad to play in the prem takes time to adapt. The prem is so much faster than any other league, every game is intense. Although to contradict myself, I've been very impressed with Khunsanov.

I'm making no snap judgements on him just commenting on the game I've just seen and he didn't work nearly as hard as is required. Ive berated foden for the same thing in recent games, nobody gets a pass for that.

Goes without saying he's not settled yet or in tune with the players and system but running around is easy, he isn't the first and won't be the last to be way off it in terms of work rate when they first come here, most are and everybody gets it eventually but it's a stark contrast to what many posters were claiming we'd instantly get from him.

One minute he looks great and the next he looks like he's never been on a football pitch before. I think there's a player in there once he settles down both on and off the pitch. One thing I found surprising was when he scored his hat trick against Newcastle they said it was the first one in his career, considering he is 26 and has been a proffessional footballer since 2016 playing as a forward it did make me think.

I still don't quite get it with him and where he fits but I'm sure pep has a plan in mind

We played with a front 4. He is not a midfielder on my view. So in the 2nd half we got overrun. He can alternate with Jezza and Erl. But you can't play all 4

Notice he makes some good runs inside the winger and gets ignored a lot. Then he stops and doesn’t really know what to do after that as it’s clearly his natural game.

When we go direct and use his pace he will be fine and will score a lot of goals but if we play shit crab sideways football he will be crap like the other 10 on the pitch . We have suddenly gog an abundance of pace in the final quarter so let’s use it .

Agree with that, also the pressing with those 4 in front is really poor and they cant put a tackle in.

He will have the same problem as Alvarez had, Haaland will exclusively take up central positions, and he will either play on the wings and lose his goal-scoring numbers, or play as a sub for Haaland

I get laughed at but if I was Pep I'd play Haaland and Marmoush wide. So that it would eliminate the targetman concept and all attacking players could run into space facing goal more often.

E.g.

.........................Ederson......................
...............Khusonov Dias Ake..............
..........................Rodri..........................
Savinho Nunes .............Gvardiol Doku
Marmoush .............................Haaland

Obviously people would have to plug holes in midfield as required but often that's our CBs playing upfield.

Anyway I think then Marmoush would be equal to Haaland in terms of attacking opportunities, getting most from each.

But everyone laughs so ha hah ha sob sob sob ...
