I get laughed at but if I was Pep I'd play Haaland and Marmoush wide. So that it would eliminate the targetman concept and all attacking players could run into space facing goal more often.

E.g.

.........................Ederson......................
...............Khusonov Dias Ake..............
..........................Rodri..........................
Savinho Nunes .............Gvardiol Doku
Marmoush .............................Haaland

Obviously people would have to plug holes in midfield as required but often that's our CBs playing upfield.

Anyway I think then Marmoush would be equal to Haaland in terms of attacking opportunities, getting most from each.

But everyone laughs so ha hah ha sob sob sob ...
Haaland is useless if he is not playing centrally. Two strikers in a team are impossible with him in the team. Alvarez is flourishing with Griezman at Athletico because both strikers interchange positions regularly

I don't think Haaland is useless if not central. I think he could play anywhere and still be a monster.

You must be mad if u think Haaland would look good in any position on the pitch and still look good?? Opposition fans would love to see Haaland in the David Silva role. Haaland is a world class striker, but that’s the ONLY role he can play at all. He’s probably the least versatile world class player in Europe. He plays striker, and does it incredibly well but that’s it.

Agree mate . He is not a ball player and doesn’t really show great skills but is the most potent striker possibly the world has ever seen .

I get what you're saying but I think Haaland is incredible when running into space. There isn't space often enough when he is 100% the furthest forward and the most central (typical target man position).

We saw this a few times this season. Where he dropped very deep. Especially against Newcastle.

But I know I'm mad and it won't happen. Just like Pep won't play Grealish, Nunes or Gvardiol in the middle.

All I'm saying was that if it was my team I'd be experimenting constantly.

He should be quite easy to play with for any top number 10 or 2nd striker. You know where Haaland will be, occupying the 2 centre halves and the 2nd striker can get close to him for knockdowns. It worked very well against Newcastle and Foden basically did it for the 3rd against chelsea. Problem for Marmoush is if he plays as a 2nd striker not from the left it leaves our already weak midfield a man light and he needs to work his bollocks off to get back in like Alvarez could.

The issue is that we pen teams in, it’s the lack of space to run into in the first place, not his position. Our wingers rarely have any space to run into either. They just get towards the byline with the skill to beat a man or a few 1-2’s out wide.

I think realistically all of our attackers would look better with more space to run into but we’d have to change to way we play, have less control of the game and allow teams to attack us, which Pep is never going to do.

True but by Haaland coming wide it'd confuse the CBs - just like having a false 9. He can then time his runs into the box to still be in th spot.

My head hurts.

Pretty obvious his best role is off the left, no? That's where he got his hat-trick from and it was also at the forefront of a fantastic attacking performance from the team.

I presume Pep knows that but Doku's recent form has made Marmoush's position be altered a bit.

It isn’t where he played for Frankfurt, so too early to tell his best position and how we’ll use him. Next season we’ll see.

Doku is our most talented dangerous winger
He has got a lot of learning to do, especially on the defensive side of his game. He has had a few good games recently as he has in the past, but consistency is key.
I would say Savinho is a better all round player, but again the same comments about him.

I could look dangerous against Alexander-Arnold.

On a side-note, did you hear Ferdinand bigging Arnold up last night because he put a couple of tackles in? Went silent as expected every time (and there were a few), when he got done.

Doku is very dangerous, but he needs to work on his end product.
