He would be absolutely dynamite in the countering system we're playing more and more in these days, but Pep seems to have stopped that?

I know that's sarcasm mate, but it's poor sarcasm. Even with Tin Haag or Ole in charge we would have got three points against BL last night.

He is starting to look like a mistake, looks to me like a good player in the wrong team. Put him in the Newcastle side and he'd look much more impressive.

Plenty of time to turn it around and that, but I'm not really confident.

To me he looks like a classic guy who's just not quite fast enough at the very top level. Every time a ball gets played through he either gets knocked off it, tackled or is under so much pressure when he takes the shot it's no good.

If he was a yard quicker he'd be an entirely different prospect.

Much like a couple of our other recent signings, there's a good player there but we can't find a system that works reliably with them.
Get Rodders back and with Nico G we have a solid base then we can start perming a front 4 - until then I'm not sure what we do for a consistently good side (Newcastle team was the best we have at the moment)

He has played well at times with Haaland, Chelsea at home last season, where both he and Haaland played together. Pep's football has been boring and turgid for the past few seasons; he values useless possession over firepower upfront

We don't play a 2 striker system and Pep never has, so why did we sign him?

We signed him because we were in the shit and needed goals. Which he delivered

However, he’s never a lone striker. I’d stick him behind Haaland and put Foden on the right with Doku on the left. Not ideal for Phil but Marmoush can score so let’s get him on the pitch
