Yeah, he's quick but not electric, a bit lightweight and his touch is a bit clumsy. If we could get the ball to him quicker and in a bit more space I think he'd be very effective, but with a slower build up and opponents sitting in he's operating in tighter spaces and it just doesn't seem to suit him at all.
 
not a good fit for us even with some change in our style recently. but still odd what a brutal G+A he had at Frankfurt just when we signed him and now he looks like he may score or assist a goal or two this season or maybe he wont.
now with Afcon coming up another stop-start for him, but hopefully he can score a few for Egypt and gets bit of momentum going for when he is back.

I've been saying for ages I want a Mancini style 4222.

Swap Rodri for Bernardo until he's back.

But you could even pull the de jong for Dzeko move too when Rodri is back. Bring on Bernardo for Marmoush to sit with Nico G and push Rodri forward. If Reijnders could get his act together you bring on Nico G for Marmoush and push Reijnders up like Yaya of old.

I am beginning to get the impression though Marmoush has a sulk on and Pep is annoyed with him.

Yes but the operative word there is 'current'. Marmoush has shown at Frankfurt and at City that he can be a top player but I do agree that at the moment we have struggled to integrate him into the side. That doesn't mean his fate is sealed.
 
Another one who needs to pull his finger out when the opportunity arrives. To be fair there's at least half a dozen in that boat at the minute.
 
His first touch is always going to be a problem and if he can’t play with his back to goal, then you can’t really see why we bought him given that Haaland will be playing up top in 95% of games.

Unless we bought him purely as a back up to Haaland, and gave him a big basic wage to keep him happy on the bench.

At the very least I would try him on the left with Doku on the right for a couple of games. The right side of our attack is dire and Doku has played there to good effect for Belgium.
 
Feel like there is something going on with Marmoush, he’s only getting pity minutes and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he was an unhappy face in the dressing room
 
There's something weird going on behind the scenes with this lad. He seems to have fallen foul of Pep and consequently, out of favour. How else can we explain the limited time given since he regained fitness and the fact he comes on after Bobb and Savinho, two of the biggest duds at City at the moment.
2 goals since April is not a great return. Comes up with the odd flash of brilliance and not much else, which is becoming the norm for most of our recent signings. And of course, away to AFCON soon and will be even less useful.

You say "2 goals since April" like there weren't two months off in between and like he wasn't then injured for two months, lmao.
 
I think the plan was probably to play him inverted from the left, but then Doku popped off/Pep was belligerent about playing actual wingers rather than inverted am's
