7 | Omar Marmoush - 2025/26

I simply don’t believe it. There was a market of 1(us) and he wouldn’t have been on half that at Frankfurt

It is pretty unbelievable but its true. Capology is used by clubs for data if they have it verified on there that's what he's on. Marmoush was a straight up panic buy, hence the massive wage outlay. To be fair he scored the goals that secured us CL last season, but it's not worked out and it's best for all if he moves on imo.

It will be difficult to move him on.
His wages are ridiculous.
Doubt it, wages are inflated around the world at the moment and Marmoush gets goals

Wed probably take a small hit on the fee given his wages but can see lots of interest both to other Prem clubs or across europe

If you list the players deemed nowhere near good enough, we would not be able to muster a first XI. What we really need to do is to think about the kind of player who should be Erling's back-up because they will rarely play.

Think he definitely needs a run of games which he’ll struggle with here.

Like Alvarez before him there’s only so long he’ll last and think he’s gone in the summer.

Will be a good player for someone that uses him as their main man up top.

I'm probably going to get pelters for this but as you said back up to erling is'nt going to get many games so you don't need a big money back up mubama on loan echeverri on loan or maybe a eds player they would get a couple games a season the eds player would be happy to get the oportunity i think echeverri has started to play a more advanced role at girona and could play a gew other roles in the team and mubama might like the chance to be back up for a srason or two

Always tough to come in perform after very little football. But it was a poor performance. He should have anticipated Cherki's ball across the box and ended up nowhere near it. Had another chance to score and skied it.

He's not going to win many favours from Pep after that performance, but with 6 finals left to play we might just need something from him and if he goes and delivers opinion will change.

I doubt very much he will be here next season unless no one else comes in for him though.

You have to build a squad so that no one is comfortable. We had Aguero yet Gabby came in and benched him, offered something different and forced Aguero to step up which he did. Gabby then didn't produce when he had the chance so he went.

Alvarez similarly offered something different to Haaland but wanted more game time.

It's a hard balance. Haaland could get an injury that rules him out for a long period.

Barely gets game time and people here expect top performances. Insane.

I'd expect just a basic performance. Jesus used to come in and perform well. Alvarez the same.

It's not ridiculous to expect a Premier League player to come in and be able to hold his own against Championship defenders.

Nico G has barely played, he still played well and scored the winner.

I think he was through on goal three times and fluffed each time. I know twice was offside but he didn’t know that. I would have liked to see him slot at least two of those.

He's not played much, so it is difficult. However, he's still not good enough in the long run - but we may still need him this season due to possible fixture congestion now (Bournemouth & Palace dates still to be confirmed I think). I'm sure that if we need him to play in the run in that it's better that he's had this match first.

Mubama is definitely an option.
Regular for England U21's and an out and out number 9. Very similar to Haaland, physically strong but obviously not at Haalands level.
The worst that can happen is that he is totally unsuitable and may have to go on loan or be sold in the Jan transfer window.

Those are the standards.

Which is why I think we will try and shift him on. But he came in last season and helped us make the CL. You have to give a bit of credit to those that haven't featured.

Stones and Nico came in and were sharp. He has to do the same. He didn't yesterday but maybe he will in one of our final 6.

Not sure we will try and shift him because finding back up for Haaland is hard.I do think he’ll want to move though and we wouldn't stand in his way.

Not a chance he's on that much imho, I know strikers command more than most. These salary sites are largely fantasy for me, and most sites quote numbers to make it look like City have bought football.
On every site, he is one of our top earners.

Think the best way to do it is to get someone younger in who is able to develop while filling in on occasions. Or you get someone 34 or so who'd be happy to not play regularly.

If you get someone in who's 26 and give them daft wages to accept they're a backup, you get someone who isn't quite that level and probably never will be.

I'd like to see us go for Kroupi, different to Haaland obviously but a livewire who knows where the goal is and isn't just a striker.
