Or Negrado, nowhere near.He is nowhere near as good as Julian.
I stand by my assessment.
Better than Jesus, Close with Dzeko.
Look at the league, other than maybe Isak.. would you buy any of them to play backup striker to Haaland?
Doesn’t pout. Puts in a shift when called on. No he’s not as good as Alvarez. But no striker of that caliber is going join a team as a back up to the main man. Hes a good squad player.
It will forever be a revolving position because nobody is going to sit around as a second choice. He’s alright in some games but he’s not really good enough often enough. He’s a sort of Fulham, West Ham level player and we really need better even as back up.
Its not like the Cherki sub did much. The criticism is too harsh. It wasn't really his fault he wasn't in the game and i don't think Cherki was a substantial improvement in his defence but yeah, he wasn't in the game. Setup rendered him useless. Problem is he just doesn't have a position.
Guardiola acknowledged that he had expected Chelsea to line up differently. Its not like the Cherki sub did much.
It was really the Kovacic sub that had the big impact.
That being said, playing all 3 of Haaland, Marmoush and Semenyo is a no go for me.
All 3 are strikers, play only 2 imo at most.
Whatever his role maybe still amazed by the 290K weekly wages. Difficult to shift even when I see a lot of Newcastle and Aston Villa fans wanting him because the salary is more than their highest paid player.
That salary is too much for a backup striker.

The question we should be asking ourselves about Omar is:
1. Is he better than Bony? Obviously yes
2. Is he better than Balotelli? Obviously yes
3. Is he better than Jesus? Obviously yes
4. Is he better than Negredo? Probably yes.
5. Is he better than Dzeko? Probably yes but close.
6. Is he better than Julian? Probably no but close.
7. Is he better than Tevez? No, not in a million years.
So if he's between Dzeko and Julian levels.. maybe just maybe, he's better than we think or like to give him credit for just like a lot of our players over the years!
