that was his best all round performance since August, but boy, his finishing was dreadful. I guess I'll need to concede he'll never be a great finisher. Shame as his movement would guarantee 25-30 goals per season if he was better finisher.

He is just badly careless at times. It makes me laugh when not long back people were trying to compare him to Messi. He seems to have gone backwards a touch this season. Got to agree he did have a good game today but in front of goal he was awful

I mean we’re in October and he has 10. Added to that his 23 and 25 in previous seasons and I’d say your close to talking out of your backside tonight.

Stirling was the best player on the pitch for the first 60 minutes. The way he sensed Mendy slipped. Then sprinted 60m to put in a last ditch tackle was a credit to him/ the team/ the manager. His assist for Merlin was sublime!!! Ok he sliced a shot but he is on another level

I might talk from wherever but he is not great finisher. When I was talking about number of goals, I was talking about the league. His movement is, if not best, then one of the best in the World and he puts himself in some great position to score easy goals, but his finishing isn't great. Unfortunately. If he was better striker of the ball with either legs and specially with left one, he'd score most in the league with this team and be up there for Ballon d'Or each year. Sterling is a weapon, unplayable at times, but he still lacks that brutal striker's finishing.

Agree but still think he's a much better player and threat from the right. Those awful shots last night were with his left foot which is a swinger at best.

Are you sure? I thought the easiest chance came to his right foot.
Clearly a great player but still has it in him to the occasional sitters
