I think that's as a result of not being a natural finisher and having to have manufactured his ability in that area so far - he doesn't have instincts to fall back on when his game is slightly off.

I think it comes down to the fact that he’s not left footed. He’s worked on it and he clearly has some way to go but how many goals have bernardo or sane or Silva scored with their weaker foot?
I think some people are too quick to dig him out for poor finishing when the majority of his ‘poor finishing’ is when the ball falls to his weaker foot

The one he put past the post with his right came at him quickly and i think that was very missable. A couple of others with his left with time to strike it his technique was just awful.
 
Yeah, I agree it's the left one that causes the most of problems. He is not fantastic shooter with right too, but he can score a great goal with it sometimes. But left one is very weak.
 
It always about getting in the positions to miss , not many can , I remember being at City and Sunderland and by 15 I was not even getting in the positions to miss , top top player
