Best English player by a country mile and one of the best in europe , only Mbappe is at his level at the moment
Surely can’t only be me who thinks sterling isn’t really convincing when on the ball with time to think, time after time running into dead ends and holding on to the ball to long, I am not arguing his numbers at all and his goal contribution has been superb, but other than being on the right end of a cross/loose ball or the odd defender not realising he can only come inside from the left I still don’t really rate his footballing ability (puts helmet on)

By his own admission he didn’t have a good game today but popped up with the crucial winner which is a magnificent trait to develop and tells us just go vital he is to us.
Hopefully with others returning now, we see him revert to what he’s best at, running with and without the ball. we’re seeing too much of him in deep positions where you’d expect to see one of the many playmakers that can in all honesty do that role far better than sterling, he needs to be the man receiving those balls and driving at defenders or running beyond them to get on the end of a pass not the one looking to make the pass.
