Can’t understand why people are getting on Sterling’s case specifically for the CL final. God knows I’ve been critical of him — and there’s a case to be made for not offering him a new contract — but he was no better or worse than anyone on that pitch, with the arguable exceptions of Walker and Gabi for his cameo. If anything, he created a bit more than Mahrez over on the other wing, who did absolutely nothing.
How many more times will the sole defence be “he was marginally less shite than ...[insert name of player who’s having a far superior season but had an off night]”?

Form dropped since Sané left and Aguero was injured all the time. Imagine your only pacey winger who might be on 300k+ but still can’t get past a defender.

Exactly this…if true tells you all you need to know about this excuse of a footballer and a person
??? That's a bit strong. I have nothing against him as a person and imo he seems like a decent bloke. I just think he's a grossly overrated footballer, although that said, people are I think starting to not rate him so highly.

Have people never even heard of confidence? Stones looked a dead man walking 12 months ago.

He was a world class winger for 2-3 years and suddenly:

"He's ruined"
"He's shit now"
"£5M player"
"Not as good as Saint Maximin, Harrison or Traoré"

I’ve never set much store by Pep’s public utterances. They are habitually trite. However, I actually believed his recent words about freshening up were implicitly directed at Sterling.
That is because that is what you wanted to believe.
Hence why it wasn't true and left you confused.

Most of those clips he's on the left wing.

I'll say it again for those at the back. THE LEFT WING!
We have three right wingers but only one plays on the left I wonder why? Sterling has played well on the left and in the center but is better on the right. this season he has been off form in a lot of games but his stats are as good as Marhez`s

He’s been way off it all season, not just stats wise but also performances, particularly at the time the club are at a crossroads as to what to do.

I don’t think signing him up to a new contract should be the only option the club is considering but I take your point that Pep obviously still sees him as one of his key personnel despite not getting a look in in any of our other big CL matches prior to Saturday.

I’d love to say the form is temporary class is permanent line, but I’ve been saying that to myself for months and months now.
Sadly Raheem‘s control is extremely ordinary.

When did he last play on the right wing for us?

Thinking back to the game at Stamford Bridge in January he gave Chilwell a hard time playing out there, and i seem to remember him doing well from that side in setting up goals at home to West Brom and Newcastle around that same time

Left or right he's equally mediocre, its just another fallacy invented by his groupies.

Fundamental ball skills should not be dependent on which blade of grass you receive the ball
