What does it say about them? You and a few others have concocted some narrative that doesn’t exist.

Everyone on this players forum comes on to critique players. Some get universally praised like Dias. Some get a mixed bag like Walker. Some get heavily criticised like Sterling. There’s nothing underhand going on, no agendas etc. Just fans of the club, giving their opinion on how a player is performing.

Those defending Sterling week in week out, have gone from “well he scored 30 goals last season” to “well Pep picks him every week and he knows more than you” to “There’s something sinister going on”. I am fucking dreading what comes next.

Really grinds my gears more than it should. He has suffered racial abuse for years, even now racist pigs are slamming him on social media. So apparently, rather than condemning the abuse I'm supposed to close my eyes and celebrate what an incredible match he had. Because that's how the world works - combat one lie with another lie. For some reason, it's impossible to discuss the abuse he gets and his actual fucking performance on the pitch separately. And btw all criticism of Sterling is led by vile racist pricks. Tomorrow if I praise his performance, I become a saint, today I'm a wanker. Some case of Schrodinger's racism that.

He is expected to score goals and the fact that he isn't and doesn't look like doing is creating the issue and resulting in the criticism of him.

Whatever goals he has scored in other seasons is irrelevent , but he isn't doing it now and that is what matters .

If he was scoring nobody would give a fuck how clumsy, greedy or all the other complaints made about his performances .

Cole Palmer on current form is thrice the player he is. Play him and send Sterling to vacation and see if he can get back his confidence

I get that Karen but there are certain things which we have to accept about his current game and performances.

There is a big problem at present for him to resolve if he is to herlp the team reach its objectives as well as build up his confidence and performance.

You should ignore the regular/constant posters who criticise imo, but accept that there are genuine issues with his performances.

Sterling stank the place out today. I thought he’d be well up for it to play himself into the first team again. He used to be one of the first on the team sheet. Not anymore.

He's not world class,when at his best (18/24 months ago) he is brilliant but that form has long gone.He is a very average Prem winger these days,and subsequently one we could replace with far better quality without a great deal of difficulty.

The problem arises with getting rid.

A world class player performs at a consistently high level week after week. Let's be honest...Sterling is nowhere near that level. How many brilliant games has he played this season??. Quite frankly, he looks like a very average player most of the time. It's sad because I really thought he was developing into something very special a couple of years ago.

controversial but if we had to sell him to get Haaland or help get Haaland i'd do it.
I think his head is up his arse probably because he hasn't been involved a lot recently & KDB bagged a new deal.
I don't think he is good enough and he stank the place out yet again today.

You can compare 2 Sterling seasons for his contribution much moreso than just claim if he wasn't there the guy in his place wouldn't have done as good, the other lad could have done better...who knows. All I know is Raz made much bigger contributions in previous seasons and has been way below an acceptable level for 18 months.

You ignore 9 of his 20 league goals last year came in project restart when the title was gone, so largely irrelevant. Another 6 before the end of September 2019, so only 5 league goals in 18 league games between October & March and that was the telling spell last season. Contrast to 17/18 where if we needed a goal to get a result between August-January he was the one who got it. Then he shit the bed in the 3-2 v the Rags and he's never really had the same mental edge ever since.
