You have been waiting a long time to pounce lol

Tbf Karen I am sure there are currently many supporters who have watched Sterling's performances and would support selling him.

There is a concern that he might not re-discover his form and is one of our big hitters who " on his current form " are nowhere near deserving of the salary he is paid .'

Without knowing why his form is so poor, there have to be concerns and football is a ruthless business with finances being a massive factor. The club might decide it is right to sell him and re-invest in players who they believe will perform better.

I am a Sterling fan, but I am torn on which way I would go. The problem as I see it is who exactly would want to buy him in his current form ?

"Without knowing why his form is so poor " do you think pep has an idea , if it wasnt for the contract talks and the dipper media saying he wants 400k and blues believing it then he wouldnt be getting this hassle

The same people are having fun on this thread , they have never accepted him, swayed i guess by the negative bullshit when he joined, they have there reasons but like i say having to much fun to ever leave the thread for five mins

We dont have any players that drop form but dont recover it , a lesson in there

You may be right .

Only a return to form is going to stop the chatter, but how and when that will be is an issue .

As a big fan of Sterling it pains me to say that maybe we`ve seen the best of him and got the best out of him.
For whatever reason he certainly isn`t the player from 12-18 months ago.
Very disappointed with Pep yesterday in not subbing him,as he was awful to watch and certainly not at ease in front of goal.

The reason why sterling got away with people not complaining back end of last season was because of what he had done before and it was a blip but now since jan last season he has been poor and it is no longer a blip and he is now getting called out and so he should be because if a regular joe goes to work and doesn’t perform very good he gets a bollocking and in some cases the sack so why should he be allowed to perform like he is for the amount of money that he gets and not get called out for it in fact we do the opposite and give him the bloody captains armband . I’d say cash in but can’t see any takers for what we want for him .

Let's pose a hypothetical (but maybe not that hypothetical) question. There's a meeting in the boardroom with Soriano, Begiristain, Guardiola, De Vries, Berrada, the CFG and City finance guys and they're planning out the summer transfer activity.

Txiki says "We've got a deal for Haaland pretty well hammered out but I need to know if we can afford it and meet FFP" The Finance guys say "Losing Aguero helps but it's not enough so we'd have to sell Sterling to be sure. He's only on the books at a nominal value so a fee over £65-70m will do it easily, which we believe we should easily be able to get."

Do they say "Nah, we'll keep Sterling and offer him more as he might come good again next season even though he hasn't really been on great form the last 2 seasons"? Or do they say "We're getting a proven top-class goal-scorer who fills Aguero's position and who we'll hopefully keep for 10 seasons as well. Let's do it"?
I think they’ll find the money somehow or move someone else on.. Sterling for me has had a poor few Games his commitment and mentality is not in doubt for me. I feel pep could play him more on the left when he is playing central with a packed defence isn’t his best position. One thing is he will help us win an important game in one or two of our remaining games..

We are saying this about Aguero as well.............
