I think for me it's more than money side of this conversation that find pretty distasteful. Almost as if half the people on this forum have forgotten that when Sterling moved here the scousers were obsessed with money when it came to Raz, what wages he wanted, what he was worth etc. Then immediately after he moved the tabloids went straight for the money jibes whether it be him buying a car, lunch, or a dog.
Now on Bluemoon a similar pattern of dishonest and disingenuous stuff is being spouted. Sterling isn't asking for a new contract, the club are trying to get him to sign one. Sterling isn't asking for a pay rise, the club are trying to give him one whilst tying him down to a longer contract. The reality is that Sterling is one of City's top 5 earners because he's one of City's top 5 most valuable players. That's the economics of football.
