Oh he's got more credit than quite a few others I agree, but still on the card now I'm afraid

I think for me it's more than money side of this conversation that find pretty distasteful. Almost as if half the people on this forum have forgotten that when Sterling moved here the scousers were obsessed with money when it came to Raz, what wages he wanted, what he was worth etc. Then immediately after he moved the tabloids went straight for the money jibes whether it be him buying a car, lunch, or a dog.

Now on Bluemoon a similar pattern of dishonest and disingenuous stuff is being spouted. Sterling isn't asking for a new contract, the club are trying to get him to sign one. Sterling isn't asking for a pay rise, the club are trying to give him one whilst tying him down to a longer contract. The reality is that Sterling is one of City's top 5 earners because he's one of City's top 5 most valuable players. That's the economics of football.

I suspect Sterling is more troubled by the speed at which abuse about him becomes quite so personal. He doesn't have to come on Bluemoon to read it, people will tag him on Twitter or Instagram to tell him what they think and they have done from the time he started being picked for England. I'm guessing that his confidence is currently somewhere around where it was in the summer of 2016 after those Euros.
Absolutely this.

I challenged anyone dishing out shit on this thread to go to work tomorrow. Whilst you're there you're going to be constantly abused, told that you're shit, be racially abused, whilst on TV for the country to see to then basically have a twice weekly performance review on social media.

Then try and perform your job at the elite level demanded, you won't be able to do it.

Guarandamnfuckingteed!

Stones turned it around, Bernardo turned it around, Raz will turn it around.

He was and has been abysmally bad recently, that is UNDENIABLE. But some of the shite I've read on here and elsewhere is man baby cry arsing of historically new levels.

He needs time off, needs a reset. The Euros this summer couldn't be worse timed for him personally, he'll be lucky to get on the plane based on his current form - would probably be a good thing for City if he didn't and he could have a meaningful summer off.

Yes for now,but his "value" is sadly, for City, not him,City, is decreasing by the game, hence the reason he won't be bombed out,but as for a new contract on more money, well that has to be deserved surely ? Like KDB has been.

He (allegedly) just like others,Salah etc,are always thinking of the dream move to Spain, but at what cost, remember City have never been too great in getting great money on sales, unlike some other clubs can.

Top post.

Football supporters don't like Sterling. It's clear that he has for whatever reason never had the love, patience, or respect that many much more inferior players to him have garnered (both at City and in the wider footballing world).

The nature of forums and football fandom I'm afraid. Half the squad has been sold in the last 18 months because at some point or another nearly all of them were on the outs.

I'm reminded of two or three weeks back when there were people in KDB thread saying he doesn't deserve a new contract because he's injury prone and on the decline.
Mad innit, in the last 12 months we've pretty much had campaigns for Sterling, Rodri, Gundo, Cancelo, Stones, Mendy, Jesus and Mahrez all to be fired out the door.

Not all clowns reside in the circus.

The excuses are running out as fast as his credit in the bank has.

Needs rest, play him on right, play him on left, can't play with so and so behind him, excuse after excuse.

He's had rest, quite a bit recently, and also played various positions, and to achieve what ? Nothing on recent showings, absolutely zilch.

Talk about a toxic thread i don't think Gundogans will ever be beat, Now he could walk away with the player of the year award and a fair few trophies, as could our other friend Mahrez whose threads on here let's say were disturbing.

Edin Dzeko took a lot of shit (mainly from the same posters, coming back again and again, to be fair). Just seen an amazing stats table: Edin is in the top ten strikers in PL history for his goals-to-minutes-played ratio. I always rated him (except for the last season) but I'd never have guessed that in a million years.

To stop the thread getting derailed even further, I’ve dug out the post in question:

Not exactly what was being alleged, but a pretty strange/fucked up perspective anyway imo.

Now let’s keep the discussion about Raheem Sterling please.
'I repeat....people who find themselves in an unfortunate situation, that requires they need help from others as they aren't able to help themselves, deserve and are welcome to benefits and handouts, that has never been in dispute from my POV.
On the flip......Those that choose to take from the state as a lifestyle choice need beating to within an inch of their selfish lives'

A fair bit different to what was being alleged......
