Its gone. I don't think he was at all, he did all the running and dribbling at the dippers and scored about 10 goals. Id much rather have a goal scorer than someone who beats a player, look at Saint-Maximin as an example, if you want that.

yes he was more a attacking threat with skills and running at pace at the dippers but that cheat who bites people was the goal scorer.

he’s job is different here and he’s more attacking the back post and getting in the box , but fact of matter is he gives the ball away a lot and runs into players a lot, mahrez gets slated for losing the ball, raz loses it just as much

I cant agree, much of our problems are in the build up and he is a big part of that.We need players who create and don't allow the break so easily.Foden,Bernardo and Torres all seem better at the press and IMO make us a more cohesive set up.

Can you not just type 'mate'? It's only two extra letters and doesn't make you sound like a 13yr old.

Oh, and those tap ins he scores aren't by accident.
I will agree he's had a poor start to the season overall though and some time out will do him good.
But the vast majority of the tap ins come from a "correct footed player for the wing theyre on" getting to the byline. Most of the time we have just the opposite unless Kev gets behind on the right and Mahrez doesnt have the pace to get to the line on either wing. Bring back Sane.

The sane raz link up for balls across the back and tap ins was fantastic

Hes suffering from too much football imo, I have no concerns over a rested Sterling becoming a key part of our team again. He should skip this week and be raring to go and build some confidence against Fulham.

We looked a mile better yesterday and I think some of that was down to the fact we did not have Sterling running into dead ends or losing the ball. It breaks momentum every time. As I said on another thread a winger should be putting the quality of crosses Foden did yesterday, Sterling would have tried to stop that ball and piss about Foden whipped it straight across.

Some of those chances that were put away yesterday would have fallen to Sterling and would have been missed. He is a good player but not in that very top bracket. You can see how frustrated Pep gets because he believes he has the talent to be much better, but it seems there is something stopping him...which I think is Sterling himself.

As for selling him, well I have to agree that if the right deal was there then I would and use the proceeds to bring in a forward that offers something a bit different than we currently have. The one thing in Raheems favour is that games come thick and fast and he will be playing soon and maybe will hit some form, but whilst he is so wasteful in front of goal at vital moments and whilst he continues to run into dead ends we will not win big matches by relying on him.

He was doing both during the days of Sane, David and KDB playing some of the best football English football has ever seen. It doesn’t have to be a complete trade off.

I have Foden and Torres starting ahead of him on the left at the moment. I would have had him ahead of Mahrez on the right but not seen Sterling have a game like Riyad did yesterday since, well, I can’t even bloody remember the last time I’ve been impressed with Sterling! Over the last 15 months he’s played well in snippets, sometimes just in singular things he’s done in an overall poor game. I’d have Mahrez and Torres starting ahead of him on the right at the moment.

That cross from Foden for Mahrez’s header yesterday, Sterling hasn’t got that in his game on either foot from either side.
