I thought he played well, was unlucky with the effort that was blocked, won the free kick for the goal and generally was much brighter than recently. Needs a bit more confidence that will come from a goal or two.

There are a few on here who will never admit that he played well, ever.

What's the bar for what you think is a good game for a winger?

Someone who can consistently execute easy passes, makes the most of chances especially on the break, who doesnt run into dead ends, and has the fundamentals down.

Not much of an ask at our level. I must admit i was late gettig home and missed the first 35 mins, so can only comment on what i saw...but what i saw was the same old.

He showed some endevour at least and i admit it wasnt as bad as previous weeks. Previous weeks were 3/10 performances though so its not saying much.

From the get go, he went at Aurier with a hunger and consistency that we rarely see. Aurier was ultimately exhausted by him and conceded the free kick that led to the winner, so in spite of his profligacy Sterling was instrumental in our win.
