You weren't specific,true.....but you did lump members, who do not agree with the Sterling groupies, into the same pot.You are very aware of this fact, and you are also aware its a snidey cheap shot,so dont come the smart arse and try to twist your shithousery,as you are bang out of order.

To even bring racism into this debate,on this forum,is unacceptable,as not one member has given cause for such an abhorrent accusation - that's my reason.
Nice. Happy to leave you to your not at all racist thing about raz then. Enjoy.

I am not saying that he doesn’t deserve criticism for his performances. He does as he’s been very poor at times.

i was also very clear that criticising him is not being racist.

I am saying that black people get more criticism than white folk by society in general and I’d be amazed if this forum some how deviated from that.

it has taken the BLM campaign to alter the balance of pundits on tv and the radio and the number of black managers is still very small. These things happen because of bias - conscious and unconscious.
Well, with one line you say you are not calling out people who criticise him as being racist, then go on to say you otherwise

Which is it?

Just as the case with Bernardo, the most likely thing to happen is that Sterling will regain form at some point next season and will start most big games again. He's only 26.

Both Mane and Sterling were the most used forwards over the previous two seasons by Klopp and Pep respectively and both lost form virtually at the same time. When players are used a bit too much, they lose form, shock horror!

Remember that Bernardo lost form and some on here were predicting that we would sell him. It was wrong. Same with Sterling: we won't sell him, unless he wants to leave.

I’m trying to make a distinction between conscious and unconscious reactions.
Sorry bud, but you seem not to be doing that very well then as you say clearly that anyone criticising Sterling on BM is not a racist, then go on to say black people get more criticism than white in general and you would be surprised if posters on here were any different

I accept I’m not being as clear as I’d like so this will be my last post on the subject.

I don’t believe that the specific criticism of his play is racist in content and am sure that most people are criticising in good faith. But I do believe that society is quicker to criticise black people. And you’re right - this is racist, even if it is unconscious.

Raheem Sterling makes admission about his form for Man City this season

Manchester City star Raheem Sterling hasn't enjoyed his best season this year.

I am Raheem Sterling and I claim my £5 from myself!

I don't think he has had a great season, but I also do not think he has had as poor a season as some make out because the stats say he has not had a poor season. I also do not think he has regressed, he has been surpassed by a once in a generation talent. What I admire though about him is he has not moaned, he has kept working hard even when things do not go his way, you can not fault his work ethic and he is a leader as shown by him donning the armband.

He had an exceptional season where he scored all those goals, he is being judged against that, I thought at the time he had a purple patch, his confidence was sky high and everything he seemed to hit went in, but he still missed chances because forwards miss chances. His misses become more high profile because of who he is, remember this is the lad who appeared in the media for buying breakfast and some parts of the media will never forgive him for leaving their darlings.

The debate has become too polarised and I fear that because the debate has become polarised it gives licence to fucking idiots to tweet things like "fucking monkey" in his direction. I was ashamed to see that tweeted about one of our players because it denies our roots and we have always welcomed players of colour such as Alex Williams, The Goat and seeing that tweet really disturbed me. So I ask people be rational about him, if he has a poor game then OK he has a poor game, every footballer that has ever lived has poor games and poor spells, that though is when they need our backing not our opprobrium. Raheem is quality, he has had a season where he didn't hit the heights he previously has, but to think he will not again is a huge leap and whilst it is possible he may never hit those heights again, he is still a player who would get in any other team in the country.

And calling me a dickhead is fine mate, I reap what I sow and I am well aware I can be a dickhead and to be honest I can be a proper **** as well, but I am cuddly :))
Fair point fella . I despise racism and iit shouldn’t even come into it with any player let alone a Man City player But he has got a lot of work to do to get himself back in the fold.

His pace and skill will always be an asset, unfortunately a lot of the end product that he had added to his game appears to have stalled again. There are flashes now and then, hopefully it will come back.
