I havent conveniently forgotten anything,my memory might not be the best, and nether do i go stat searching.....but i do remember wanting him to be involved in our crucial games when Pep decided otherwise.
I understand your point about tiredness, and while i hope its that simplistic......i cant help watching his contributions and thinking its deeper than that with Sterling.

I genuinely believe a fresh start elsewhere would be the best thing for him.

It's fine to see things differently. Time will tell about Sterling. I don't think there's a club that would pay enough for Sterling this summer (unless he is exceptional at the euros). I don't think we want to sell him either. Fans are more fickle than Pep and Txiki. Sterling is 26 and hasn't had injuries like, say, Owen. No objective reason whatsoever to think he's finished at City. He's contributed about 25 goals this season, about the same as Kevin and Foden. Foden's development has perhaps hit Sterling's confidence. He'll probably come to terms with the fact he isn't first choice now.

I don't think sterling will renew this summer, based on losing his place and the rise of foden. Doesn't mean he'll leave but I definitely think he'll want to see how it goes/assess options if he can't get back into the team. If City want maximum value for raheem, they would have to sell this summer rather than next. where the price might drop from 80-100 we could get this year to 50-70 the year after. Difficult decision for city if he doesn't sign. He might also opt to run deal to get preferable terms on his next contract the way Sane did which would not allow us to sell.
I would think if Sterling wants to leave, Pep will already know and plans put in place to replace him.

If the club on the other hand decide they don't see him having a future, it would more likely be because they don't see his glory days returning and, if that is the case, we would be very lucky to get £80m - £100m

Fair comment, especially about fans on an internet board.....the very place for fickleness, frustration and hyperbole! Hopefully keeps it away from the stadium!

The difference with Kev and Foden is their overall impact, they are far more fluid in the team ethic and contribute much better to possession and recovery.Essentailly we would badly miss their involvement,we would be a worse side without them, and the same cannot be said for Sterling.

Yet he has as many goals and assists combined as Mahrez, who is widely said to have had a great season. He has more than Grealish who is touted as the next big thing.

He wasn't as brilliant as that season where he scored for fun, but nor was he as poor as some on here say.

He has a shot accuracy rate just shy of Kane, a conversion rate better than Rashford.

Has anybody considered the correlation between Sterling not hitting the heights and Mahrez smashing the ceiling. Teams double up on Raheem, it leaves space for false nines and leaves Mahrez one on one.

Yes Raheem has to improve because teams are frightened off him, but his presence alone has defenders on the back foot as they now he can beat them for pace, that forces them deeper and creates space for false nines to play. Teams cannot play a high line against Raheem's pace, because there is always the danger of the ball over the top from Eddy to start with and the space it allows Kev means he can create even more danger.

I don't think he will start the CL Final, not because he has been poor but because Foden has been brilliant, eventually though Foden will play more inside as a 10 an Raheem will then have a starting place to play for. At the moment Phil holds that shirt for me.
Simple question. Has Sterling had a good season? It seems his defensors put so much importance on goals and assists(which obviously are super important.

Lampard has 3 times more goals than Xavi, Iniesta or Zidane.
Robben has never had 2 seasons with as many goals and assists as Sterling's 17-19, but I and pretty much everyone would choose Robben as a player (not an insult, Robben is maybe the bestRW of the decade).

Teams double up on Raheem? He's by far worse at dribbling than Bernardo, Mahrez, Foden, KDB, Jesus.

Then you try to explain all the wonderful things that Sterling does(some of them I agree, but not to the extent you seem to do), if that's true, why is he not playing with Pep? Why if he produces just as much as Foden and Mahrez and more than Bernardo, he's not a starter? Because Sterling clearly can play RW and even as a false 9(probably it's a more natural position for him than Bernardo).

Lol.

Even the worst Sterling critics on here don't say this.

Also Robben was a RW.

Robben’s stock in trade was to cut in FROM THE LEFT and curl one into the far corner, with his left.

It’s what Mahrez does, and Sterling tries to do from the right.

A refresher….

I can't believe I have to say this.

But I think you need a refresher on what left and right mean.

I already changed this! As my second sentence made clear, I made an error when typing FROM instead of ON.

My apologies! You were QUICK!! ;/)
