One plays in a world class team and lost his place to a 20 year old and the other carries his team to wins and was injured for most of the season. Silly comparison.
Of course, it was the expected reply but Raz played 5 games more.

Sterling played 31 prem games, (28 and 3 subs really.)

Jack 26 games.

Still, if he is the typical big fish in a little pond and with Villa doing so well, surely you would have expected more goals and assists from the technical proficient feet of Grealish, no?

Are you really suggesting he lost his place to Foden, a player who played 28 league games himself?

Now that is a silly comparison to make, he lost his place for his reaction to being subbed but knock yourself out if you know best, as I am sure you think you do already.

But that wasn't your argument. He's clearly suffering for form, but he's been world class for 3 seasons, one of our more dangerous players before that , and one of our more productive players for much of this season.

No-one will argue he's had a poor second half to this season. It's the suggestion that his recent form proves he was just punching above his weight for the last few years is the part I find absurd.
Some of these people were still slating him in those 3 seasons, so you have no chance of driving your point home.

I must admit I loved his interview today when he was asked if he'd justified his starting place. He's almost certainly been England's best player since the World Cup.

Literally just rolled his eyes and said nothing.

By his previous high standards he didn't have the best of seasons.

However he had a good game today and caused Croatia lots of problems. Rightfully motm.

Out of the question for people to just say well done? Especially considering the form he had coming into the tournament?

He lost his place because of poor performances, by the way Villa finished 11th approx 30 points and goals behind city so I wouldn’t expect his numbers to be higher. What isn’t an argument is the technical merits of both players. Grealish is miles ahead on that front.

If you take both ends of the spectrum dogshit to world class then it’s only the clappers claiming Raheem is either one of those because balanced supporters realise he ain’t either.

Will he get a bumper pay rise? Probably but that won’t be based on ability or form. Just business sense because replacing him will cost a transfer fee added to a smaller weekly wage for another player.
