70 points - Will it be enough?

I really think that 70 points will get us into the CL play-offs (thats what awaits fourth dont forget) and i believe thats well within our capabilities.

Thats the maximum that the Scousers can get and that includes beating Chelski at home, which i dont see happening...

So come on you Blues - the prizes is potentially huge and this will propel us onwards and upwards much quicker........as well as attracting a whole different breed of potential signings!!

Come on - make it a parrrrrrtttttyyy down in the Smoke in May !!

Win 3 games and 1 draw would do it, but we need 1 of the wins against Spuds and a win or draw against Villa.

Yes, 4 wins will give us 71pts or 3 wins and 2 draws should be enough with spuds still having to play all the top 4, there going to drop a few points :-)
 
The teams finishing in 4th place over the past five seasons have done it with points ranging from 61-72.

So although , at 59 points, we are well on course ..... the form of those around us , especially Spurs , would suggest that we should aim to equal that 72 point mark ...... although , if we manage to beat both they and Villa at our place , we may well not need that many points.
 
If we get it,it will be like when the Sheikh bought us all over again.It will take a week to sink in.I'll be wishing my life away waiting to see who our 1st game is against.
 
I can see there being a few more twists in the tail the way it stands we can afford one defeat as long as we then beat Spurs however I am really hoping that it gets settled either before that match so we can party at our last home game and rub their noses in it!!

Lennon is almost back - me thinks they will drop less points than most people think as he has been one of their stand out players
 
I just hope we get through to the group stage at least if we qualify. It would be typical to get drawn against some crazy moldolvian and get knocked out. It wouldn't really matter though, as 4th place is really about us being able to attract the worlds best players, none of us really expect to win the chimps league first time round do we ?

Expect..? no.. But I'll be thinkin its certainly possible.
 
No team has ever needed more than 70 points to finish 4th in a 38 game Premier League season. FACT (actual). It would be typical City though to get 70 and still fail to qualify.

Just statto'd it. No team has ever needed more than 67 (66 with superior goal difference) to finish 4th. It's got be a record breaking year hasn't it? In other years 59 points would have been enough!
 
i did the predictor thingy the other day and had us on 67 points in front of liverpool on 64 points with one game left to play each
so on the final sunday a draw will be good enough to give us 68 points and champs league

alsp had the scum in third
 
Think 68 will turn out to be enough - with a superior goal difference and goals scored total.

3 wins to get us there. Still say Birmingham match is a bigger game in many ways than the derby.

Can't see Liverpool beating Chelsea. If Chelsea win then Liverpool can only get 67 points anyway.
 
77 will win us the league come on city....... i think pool will win next 3 games putting them on 64 with 2 to play then they have chelsea at home, i have said all along 69 will do it but a lot hinges on that game for that to happen. I also think spuds will beat arse, they wont have played since messi ripped them so could be deflated going into spuds game, think spuds will draw against chelsea and lose to scum so they will have 62 with 3 games left. As for villa, god knows. I reckon we will get 4 points from next 3 games so way i see it
