In certain games he is good at what he does, take the two ties against Madrid for example. But as soon as we come up against a side with athletic & quick midfielders, he becomes an enormous hindrance to us defensively.
Useful at tidying up and setting the tempo against equally slow midfields, likewise when we play sides that put little to no pressure on us. But against the better teams (or even those with just quick players on the break like United, Wolves, Lyon) he gets exploited badly.
