Bernardo definitely suffered from the backlash of the Mendy stuff. He was not up to the standards of last season.
Hopefully he’ll be back to his best next season.

Regarding Gundo. I’m in the camp of those that thinks he hides in crucial games, is slow, cannot tackle and generally, the PL is too intense now for him.

Pep never takes him off even when it’s obvious that he is the problem in a given formation.

I’m not convinced yet about Rodri either, but at his age he’s a much better bet. Gundo shouldn’t play at the expense of Bernardo or Phil next season, is my opinion.

Is this the Foden that goes missing against Watford and Bournemouth
Gundogan has been unlucky with knee injuries and lost pace granted
But what a great goal (free kick I think ) at Brighton
One swallow does not a summer make. Typical of gundogan - to score when the match is already won. Even if fodder has a bad game, he is constantly harrying and pressing, unlike gundogan who's always hiding and appears not to want the ball against big teams

I am patronisingly told on a regular basis , “If you dont know and cant see what gundogan brings to the team then yiu dont know football”.

I have watched him, studied him, seen what he adds, seen what he brings out of others, noticed what he contributes.

i have come to the conclusion i know FUCK ALL about football because im literally none the wiser.

to me hes guardiolas ‘safe bet’ when he shits out of trusting others

Every single minute of every Champions League game.

While David Silva, Bernado Silva and Phil Foden remain on the bench.

Is this part of Gundogan’s renewed contract?

Is it Pep being stubborn and trying to prove himself right, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary?

Is it just a blind spot?

Do his coaches / Txiki even dare to raise the question to him, or is Pep’s opinion now completely sacred and beyond reproach?
evrery single minute, unbelievable. so the worst player bar none gets more CL football than kdb.

Funniest thing about Gundogan is that in the 18/19 season, when we went on a 17 game win streak, he had to play at the base of the midfield 3 with Bernardo and David permanently playing in the attacking midfield roles due to Fernandinho and De Bruyne’s injuries.

This trio brought the absolute best out of Bernardo and Gundogan who played their best football for us during this period.

Gundogan in isolation is a good footballer. Pep persisting with playing him as an 8 and not a 6 is the issue. He’s a wank 8, wank. He’s brilliant at setting the tempo when he’s playing as the 6. Pep must have seen this during the 17 game win streak, which means his persistence is even more baffling.
