Gundogan was woefully unfit and looked like he had lost the magic of his Dortmund days,he was a liabilty in many of our games,and yet Pep kept choosing him.
The player we have the pleasure of watching now is genuinely world class,and there isnt enough praise you can throw his way for dragging himself back up to that level,but lets not pretend that was always the case.
As for last night,another incredibly composed and controlled display,a midfield masterclass,his performances very rarely drop below an 8/10 now.
I agree.Even during those days when let's say he divided opinion, for me he was excellent as the holding player in the team. He kept the team moving and linked well with the players that were there to create and occasionally chipped in with a goal or an assist. He played every game in the run to the title in 2019 and contributed superbly as he did many times either side of this. A great player !Total and utter tosh (as usual)
His form was never that bad. Pep always picked him. You know better than him? Eat humble pie. You were wrong at the time. He was playing the role chosen for him. Agree with him showing his full potential now though. Never doubted it...

The problem with football supporters is the tendency to make harsh judgements in the heat and now without looking at the bigger picture. I suppose we are all guilty to some extent.Anyone remember that thread "The Gundogan Blindspot" ?
