He's great with the ball up until the attacking final third. Without the ball is what worries me.Mixed.
Played some great line splitting passes and runs.
Absolute pants at that last action, too slow, wrong option etc etc
Why are you surprised? There are those married to their own agendas and they'll the same dumb shit over and over again regardless of how a guy plays...Surprised by the comments here. He was sloppy on a couple of occasions, but other than that, I thought he was excellent. He was the glue that made us click.

It was especially interesting today with lots of non-regulars on the pitch how kind people were to certain players and how willing they were to give them a chance…and how exactly opposite they are (or have been) toward others.Why are you surprised? Kovacic played really well and was a constant outlet for passes. Bet he enjoyed winning there, too.
My only grizzle is when he comes pouring forward with the ball to the opponent’s box and has 3 or 4 clear options, he almost always makes a mess of it. He’s like a driver stuck on the roundabout who can’t decide which turn off to take.

Maybe he’s waiting for the seas to part and he’ll be clean through. It’s happened a few times now so you’re probably right.I think it will help if he only pushed half way and pass a bit earlier let the others make the decision - rather than drive all the way too close to the box.
